Chicken Farm Art Center

The Old Chicken Farm Art Center, founded in 1971 as a place for artists to live and work, with help from a lot of friends, the Art Center has grown into a premier West Texas / San Angelo attraction.

Through the years sharing the wonderful world of art has always been Roger Allen's main objective.

The Art Center also serves as home for Roger and Pam, and Jerry and Susan.

Throughout the year we host 1st Saturday each month with featured artists, great acoustic music with the Chicken Pickers, blacksmiths, free clay for kids (all ages), and demonstrations, 2nd Thursday yard concerts featuring local and traveling musicians and songwriters April thru October.

Three major events include San Angelo ceramic event in April, the Sculpture show in October, and a huge 3 day Thanksgiving Open House in November.

Having worked with clay since 1960, Roger has passed through many stages of pottery making. Stoneware was my thing for many years, then I discovered COLOR and I'm having a good time. We create most of our colors and use an airbrush to apply the blended colors.

The Chicken Farm Art Center is also home to 20 artists studios, 2 art gallerys, the Silo House restaurant and the Inn at the Art Center a unique Bed & Breakfast.
