Inn at the Art Center Logo

Welcome!
If you like your Bed & Breakfast unique and unforgettable, look no further. From a 1940's mom and pop chicken farm, to a visionary dream of vacant and abandon buildings that would become an artist community, Inn at the Art Center carries the story of The Chicken Farm Art Center.  In 1971 Roger Allen, a former Central High School Art Teacher,  quit his job and bought the place on a whim and a prayer!  Today, you might never realize you are sleeping in old chicken coops as each room has a new life with artistic or design flair.

Outside, you can get a firsthand look at artists at work or relax in one of the many shady nooks and crannies on the property, including a sculpture-laden courtyard and a covered patio.

We hope you enjoy taking in the peace and personality of the Art Center.  There are sitting areas in courtyards and arbors, trees and gardens, and all our pets and artists are friendly.  Take a nap in the swing, or wander and visit the studios.  We want you to feel welcome here.

Roots at the Silo House Restaurant is located on the property and offers a unique and delicious fine dining experience. The restaurant values local ingredients and takes pride in serving exceptional meats such as USDA Prime beef, free range organic chicken, Texas grown organic  fruits and vegetables.

The Silo House will be open Thursday - Saturday 6:00pm till 9:30pm and First Saturdays of the month for brunch from 11:00am till 2pm.
